RIccardo Ferrini aka DJ Ferro, is the founder of Underground Area, his musical path starts as an mc in the year 2000 with a Hip-Hop band called UCN, in 2003 after a pause comes in contact with the Drum’n’Bass storm that was heading to Italy, and falls in love with those sounds.

 

He then starts to buy the first liquid funk, breakbeat, and ragga jungle records, and to travel al lot among the electronic music european capitals, entering the club culture, mostly the London based one, that will affect him forever. On the wayback from London he launches the crew Underground Area, the year is 2007 and Ferro is 21 and full of records, energy and passion. The collective starts right away to throw parties where Ferro, the only dnb dj of his area, plays 5 hours long sets.

 

Shortly the crew organizes a big number of events and creates a stable situation in his zone, hitting clubs from Urban Vibes to Oltremodo (Forlì) with Ferro as main DJ and he is also featured in numerous respected clubs like Maffia (Reggio Emilia) and Alcatraz (Milan).  

In 2009 Underground Area enters Altromondo Studios, one of the main clubs on the region and the Center of Italy, they want to throw a big DnB festival and they want Ferro as resident dj & artistic diretor, IDM International Drum’N’Bass meeting is born, number 1 Italian DnB Festival.

 

In the last times Ferro had a big grow performing multiple times at the Link of Bologna, (Italy’s DnB Arena) and also Brancaleone (Rome) and Viper (Florence), also thanks to an artistic evolution that makes him do 3 decks dj sets with his productions & dubplates, made in collaboration with MC Def, with whom in 2011 releases the first single “Ne voglio ancora” (a true dnb hymn) on his own label Underground Area Records, that will later release other solo productions and remix for various artists, the last one was for General Levy & Bonnot, part of their album “Forward”
