Born in Sassari, (Italy) on 16 June, 1976, and living in Porto Torres, Roberto Mannoni took to the producer and Dj booth on its early years.
Fascineted by mixtape mixing techniques, and attracted by the Djs' world, he took his first steps by creating his first mixtapes when it was still a young man.
In his teen years he came in contact with the writing and hip hop world, that fostered his passion for painting, but he never overlooked his passion for music.
It wasn't long before, after having bought a small record player and a even smaller mixer, he became known as “Eki Dj” and started to mix hip hop and 90's records with a handful of old-school classics.
The turning point for Eki Dj's carreer came when he met the so-called “Stranos Elementos”, a legendary band in the sardinian scenario, that inserted him as a dj-producer.
It was in this setting that he he began to hone his skills and travel throughout the world.
Having a flair for electronic music, that he never disregarded, on October 2011 he completely devoted himself to the bass music, by creating 2 Ep electro and his first Ep drum and bass in behalf of the behalf “Sayfam Joywork”.
In 2012 he became one of the pioneers of the underground sardinian scene and he secured different record deals with several labels, such as “Only the best records”, “Underground Area”, “Bassacre records”, “Digital empire record”, “Edr Records”, “Total damage recod”.
Plus, after having stipulated an exclusive contract with “Sons of noise records”, his first smash single became a huge hit and reached the top 50 glitch hop beatport.
In 2012 he released his first album “Overdrive”, that climbed the beatport charts and earned the first position of the well-known english chart “Hard to find records”, while Eki Dj started enjoying the top of the dj glitch hop beatport chart.
At the moment he is working on others Lps.
